Health & Hygiene
Hygiene Guidelines
- No footwear allowed on the mats. Please ensure you have clean feet before stepping on the mats.
- Use footwear at all times when off the mats (a pair of flip flops will come in handy).
- Keep fingernails and toenails short and filed down for training.
- Please remove watches, piercings and jewelry before you start training.
- For every training session, please use a clean washed gi or no-gi gear.
- We recommend you wear a rashguard and compression pants with your gi and for no gi classes too.
- This is a close contact sport and we all expect a high standard of personal hygiene from everyone.
- DO NOT train if you are feeling unwell (this includes experiencing flu-like symptoms, infections or skin conditions that may be contagious).
- Long hair must be tied back.
- Shower before and after training.
Pregnancy Policy
It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that she is not involved in any activity that puts her at risk of being injured or her pregnancy being affected in any way.
Blood Spillage Policy
In the event of a class participant suffering a bleeding wound, the participant should stop training and inform the instructor. The affected mats and other surfaces should then be promptly cleaned and disinfected.
Infectious Disease Policy
DO NOT train with open cuts and wounds which can develop to staph or ringworm infections. We advise you to seek medical treatment immediately.
