Jack Della Maddalena
UFC Welterweight Champion
Every world champion starts somewhere. For Jack Della Maddalena, it all began right here—at Scrappy MMA, in the heart of Perth.
Jack’s journey didn’t begin in a cage. It started on the rugby field at age eight, where he represented his school from Year 6 through to Year 12. But everything changed when his older brother Josh introduced him to boxing. At 14, Jack joined a local boxing gym to get fitter for the rugby season—and instantly fell in love with combat sports.
After his rugby days ended, Jack transitioned to full-time MMA. His professional career kicked off on 12 March 2016 with back-to-back losses. But setbacks don’t stop Scrappy fighters. Jack went on a nine-fight win streak, capturing the Eternal Welterweight Championship and defending it four times.
In 2021, he earned a UFC contract with a dominant decision victory over Ange Loosa on Dana White’s Contender Series. What followed was a streak of thrilling performances inside the UFC Octagon.
Then came the biggest stage of all—UFC 315 on 10 May 2025—where Jack faced Belal Muhammad for the UFC Welterweight Title. After five hard-fought rounds, Jack was crowned world champion by unanimous decision—earning yet another Fight of the Night in the process.
Every round. Every rep. Every breakthrough—all forged right here at Scrappy MMA.
